Talk about burying the lede, Jonathan.
“Queer Eye” star Jonathan Van Ness wrapped up 2020 on Instagram like a lot of us, only — buried in his reminiscences of the year — he chose to divulge that he apparently got married at some point.
“Thank you universe for allowing me to be here & thanks to everyone who has supported me,” Van Ness, 33, began, before recapping a selection of accomplishments. Nestled after a few of them, he wrote, “I got married to my best friend & have a loving partner to continue building my life with.”
And there, fourth in the slideshow, is a picture of Ness with said best friend and partner, identified as Mark Peacock, according to People.
Van Ness’ fellow “Queer Eye” stars were apparently in on things, with Bobby Berk writing in the comments, “Yay!! That was a hard secret to keep!!,” and Karamo Brown adding, “We can finally celebrate it publicly!! So happy for you!!!!!!”
“Though many details of the pair’s relationship — including when and how they met — remain under wraps,” People reports, “Peacock did share a humorous video that his now-husband captured earlier this year in March.”
Meanwhile, E! reports that Van Ness and the London-born Peacock “have fueled romance rumors since they began liking and commenting on each other’s Instagram posts in late 2019. However, they have never confirmed a relationship publicly.”
According to Cosmopolitan, Ness split with his last known beau, South African rugby player Wilco Froneman, in December 2018, at least if his “thank u, next” Instagram is any indication.
Page Six has reached out to Netflix and Van Ness’ team for comment.
